13 days until Christmas is the perfect time to start some Holiday Baking! You have got to try our infamously irresistible and simple GingerGerbs cookie recipe!
- 3/4 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 Cup Molasses
- 1 Tbsp Water
- 2 Tsp Ginger
- 1 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 Tsp Cloves
- 2 1/2 Cups Flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Celsius.
- To a medium bowl, add butter, sugar, egg, molasses and water. Mix. Your mixture should be smooth.
- Add ginger, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves, and white flour.
- Stir until your mixture resembles cookie dough.
- Spread some flour on a smooth surface and roll your dough.
- Use a cookie cutter to cut each cookie. (Ideally, a mouse cookie cutter! We weren’t able to purchase one in time for this recipe, so we made one!)
- Grease the cookie sheet and place each cookie with a couple centimeters apart – the cookies will spread.
- Sprinkle sugar on top of each cookie.
- Cook for 10 minutes. Do not overcook. Your cookies will feel flimsy when they come out of the oven, but will be deliciously chewy when they cool down.
- Allow cookies to cool before removing them from the pan or decorating.
- Enjoy!
