It’s a quick Mini Monday this week, featuring the Fisher Price Corn Popper Keychain. This was a piece I’d seen throughout my journeys but could never really get used to the price tag on many of the new in box keychains. I frequented ebay and often searched for the item just incase I found one on sale (with reasonable shipping to Canada). At the time, I was also frequently searching for some miniature game keychains (you’ll see those in the next mini monday!). Finally, I came across a “lot” including many of the keychains and… this lucky find!
In total, each item came to about $3.30 CAD including shipping. You can find these on ebay, new in package, for as low as $25USD.
So, it is meant to be a keychain – but I removed the chain part… Leaving just the corn popper. It is not a perfect 1:12 scale, but I think it will work just fine when comared to the gerbs in size. I have included it against a 1:12 scale dresser to show you.
The wheels are fully functional, and when you push it – it actually pops!
The details are quite awesome and it is pretty much exactly how I remember them being.
I have made a super quick video so you can see. You do have to kind of put some pressure on the bottom to get the balls to pop, but overall I think it’s super cute – especially that it works!
